Unfortunately, we won’t place one of his little fluffy pets atop this one, because we don’t know how the tryouts people will take it.
The weather was weird in NorCal this past weekend. Saturday was great, but Sunday we woke up to drizzle and some rain. We still headed over to the kart track for some Mini practice. We figured Anthony could use some practice in the wet.
To our surprise, a few of our friends showed up. Some we had not seen in a long time and others that were regulars. The first few sessions were wet and Anthony took it easy, but as the pavement dried up, things got going pretty well. He had a pretty cool race with one of our good friends, Dru, who rides an RS92. The two always ride together and push each other pretty hard. His friend Daniel joined in on the fun also and all three had a blast.
We also got to meet two new people, whom we “kind” of met when Anthony was transitioning from PocketBikes to NSRs. They even remembered his faithful squeaky turtle.
The day was long, we ended up getting home around 8pm, but it was well worth it. Our next event is this coming weekend, in Las Vegas.
We’ve just finished booking our trip to Spain where Anthony has been invited to tryout for the 2012 RedBull Rookies Cup.
This is very exciting and very scary stuff. Wish us luck.
We are very excited that Anthony will be given the opportunity to tryout and see how he compares against
the fastest kids in the world.
The tryouts are going to take place at the Motorland circuit, in Aragon, Spain. They will take place on the second week of October.
Trying out for the rookies cup, has been one of Anthony’s goals ever since the cup began, back in 2007. At that time, Anthony had just began to start riding shifter bikes, until then, he’d only ever ridden and raced PocketBikes. It’s 4 years later and now Anthony has the same opportunity and he’s very excited about it.
Anthony has been riding very well this year and I’m certain that if he continues ridding this way, he will do well at the tryouts.
We’ve set a Paypal account for the trip to Spain, if you can help him arrive at this goal, he and his family will appreciate it very much.
